What is Aerobic exercise?
The term ‘aerobics’ literally translates to ‘in the presence of oxygen’. Any moderately-intensive and rhythmic exercise or physical activity that leads to an increased heart rate and maximized oxygen content in our body, is considered to be an aerobic exercise. In accordance to current trends, aerobics is more famously or popularly known as ‘cardio’, with respect to gym terminology as it improves our cardiorespiratory fitness. Taking long walks, cycling, jogging, zumba, music- infused workouts etc, are few examples to name. Whereas, lifting up weights and running races are termed as ‘anaerobic’ which means ‘without the presence of oxygen.’
