Being a Colombian dancer by profession, he had started a fitness class in the ’90s in his home country. One day, he forgot to bring his regular music tapes to his class and substituted it with some of his favorite Latin dance music cassettes and his students at the time absolutely enjoyed working out to it and hence, the birth of the zumba dance.
